God designed and created us for relationship with Himself. We want relationship with God almost as much as He wants relationship with us.
Our problem is that we have sinned against God by ignoring what pleases Him in order to choose what pleases us. Sin separates us from God. The Bible says in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Our efforts are never good enough to overcome this separation from God caused by our sin. Spiritually, our sin makes it impossible for us to respond to God on our own. We actually earn spiritual death according to Romans 6:23a, “For the wages of sin is death.”
Even as sinners, God never stops loving us. Because God wants relationship with us, just as He always has, He provides everything we need to overcome the separation between us caused by our sin. Consider this good news in Romans 5:8, "But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!"
Jesus Christ died in your place and mine. We have earned spiritual death because of our sin. He took our place! He took the penalty and guilt of our sin upon Himself. He took our place because He loves us! Scripture teaches that Jesus was buried, which He was, and that He was resurrected on the third day. His loving sacrifice secured the victory over sin, including the separation between God and sinners caused by sin.
This victory is now offered to everyone and anyone who will believe Jesus Christ is Lord and that He is resurrected from the dead. Romans 6:23b states clearly, “…the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 10:9-10 explains how to accept and receive the offer of eternal life that Jesus extends, “9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.”
Becoming a Christian is choosing relationship with God on His terms through Jesus Christ. Here is a how to make it real:
Becoming a Christian is your choice and yours alone. No one can choose for you. You can choose to accept Jesus Christ’s invitation to relationship with Him today.
Allow a warning, please. Neglecting or rejecting Jesus Christ's invitation to relationship means you remain spiritually dead. Consider 1 John 5:11-12, "God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life."
What do you choose? This is the most important decision of your life.
If you chose a relationship with Jesus Christ on His terms, you are invited and encouraged to share your decision with us. We especially encourage you to share your decision with the people you love and who love you.

Becoming a Christian is choosing relationship with God on His terms through Jesus Christ. Here is a how to make it real:
- Agree with God about sin, especially your personal choices that you know are sin against God. 1 John 1:9 instructs us in this, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
- Align your life with God on His terms by choosing to follow Jesus Christ rather than sin. Here is how Jesus states it in Luke 9:23, ““If anyone wants to come with Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
- Activate your faith to live for Jesus Christ. Start where you are growing in relationship with Jesus Christ. Romans 10:17 shares the basic process, “So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.”
